Eleuthera
(200 sq. miles / population 11,269 - incl. Harbour
Island & Spanish Wells)
Considered
by many to be one of the most enjoyable destinations
in The Bahamas, Eleuthera is notable for its miles
of unspoiled beaches and romantic seaside grottos.
Surfing, excellent diving and water sports are very
popular. So are the famously sweet Eleutheran pineapples.
Indeed the pineapple is king in Eleuthera, inspiring
a festival in June and even a triathlon. Make that
a pineathalon, held during the June Eleuthera Pineapple
Festival.
